Artist Statement:
My paintings and sculptural work engage with themes of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and the complex interplay between humans and the natural world. Crafted from natural and locally sourced materials, my work explores the intricate balance between human connection to landscapes and the ecological impact of human activity. By weaving myth, memory, and meaning into my artistic process, I examine the dual role of landscapes as both cultural anchors and sites of environmental exploitation.
My practice is grounded in a philosophy of reciprocity with nature, emphasizing sustainable methods and honoring the materials with which I work. By fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment, my art seeks to inspire reflection on humanity’s intrinsic link to nature and the urgency of sustainable relationships with the land. My work serves as both a celebration of the natural world and a call to reevaluate our collective responsibilities toward it.
